Job Profile

To lead and manage the procurement activities for heavy equipment, spare parts, and related services. The Team Lead will ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services, supplier relationship management, identification of new supplier and product alternative, contract negotiations, and compliance with internal controls and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with the company goals
  • Plan equipment and spare parts procurement based on operational needs and maintenance schedules.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentors a procurement team.
  • Set a clear KPIs, monitor performance of team and ensure continuous improvement.

Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for heavy equipment, parts, and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts.
  • Maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent quality and availability.

Cost Control and Budgeting

  • Monitor procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and ensure cost optimization without compromising quality.
  • Prepare cost reports and support audit requirements.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, contracts, and supplier evaluations.

Operational Execution & Market Analysis

  • Ensure timely procurement of equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and finance teams for demand forecasting and approvals.
  • Monitor market trends, equipment innovations, and supply chain risks.
  • Recommend alternative suppliers or sourcing methods as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in procurement, specifically with expertise in spare parts or technical equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in procuring heavy equipment spare parts, particularly for cranes, heavy lifting machinery, or earthmoving equipment
  • Strong proficiency in the English language, with excellent writing and reading skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel and experienced in using procurement or ERP software.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
